Inns Court Playground Opened

Local parents and children came to celebrate the long-awaited opening of a new playground in Knowle West - complete with carved tree sculpture. The Inns Court Playground was opened by Bristol Mayor George Ferguson. It took a year for Bristol City Council to plan in consultation with local people and six weeks to construct - and is already proving a hit with young families during the school holidays. The sculpted giant redwood tree was created by wood carver Andy O'Neill using a chain saw - and took ten days to complete.

Plot to Plate...

A giant lettuce as bigger than a man's head was bought from Springfield Allotments for the Team lunch at KWMC today - encouraging staff to buy local, organic and avoid packaging. It was all part of Business Green Week and a good chance to sit together in the garden and have a chat.

Wedding at Let's Grow Community Allotment

A fitting venue for the wedding of gardner Steve Griffiths and long term partner Nina Jones who tied the knot on Saturday at the Roundhouse on Springfield Allotments. With spectacular views over the Northern Slopes and the sound of birdsong, it was a lovely place to hold the function. Steve's uncle and Bristol legend DJ Derek was also there to wish them well. The bride looked wonderful in a strapless ivory dress with red trimmings. Congratulations to them both and best wishes for a fantastic future. May they grow together...
